There is an opportunity to make real changes in the culture and industry of tea.
Tea has been growing in popularity in the U.S. and we come from a Persian background with a long tradition in some of the world’s best historical agriculture, with cultivation and history in tea. We are also American with our other half being a San Franciscan family with fabled history dating back to the 1820’s. We recognized that we could do a great thing to be liaisons to introducing this amazing tea culture. It would be a challenge, since we were aware that to simply share our culture we’d have to work in the face of decades of artificial myths and prejudice that insist to limit the knowledge of a culture renowned for its humanity and hospitality throughout its long history. So we set out working to have people see our good deeds and intentions through a glass of really exceptional tea.
Crimson Gate Tea was designed in San Francisco with the intention to share culture fairly with our community. We felt a duty to create stable local jobs and offer products that prioritize the health of our customers and the protection and preservation of natural environments regardless of propaganda about certain people and places. We work with small-sustainable, Organic certified and multi-certified farms which are generally better than fair-trade with some in pristine, undeveloped regions. We are very diligent about who we do business with and the scale of farming which are generally small family affairs. This is to support preservation and responsible stewardship of vital land resources and to be truly confident in the health benefits of what we consume regularly. It leads to great tea among the other more broadly reaching, greater human benefits.
Things that we’re proud of:
No plastics, corn-plastics, gmo’s, additives or unnatural flavors are ever used in our products. We use recycled, reusable, and post-consumer materials in most of our packaging and assemble our products with care by hand to cut carbon emissions from industry assembly and production. We aim to scale and offset any future carbon we are a part of, and hope to gain support. Please contact us if you would support our endeavors, we would really appreciate it. Our tins and other assembly components are American-Made and partnered intentionally to bridge culture and work in good faith. We have led this trend since 2012 and especially with the addition of our tins in 2016. We do the utmost diligence for our products, including for any spices or floral essence added to our tea. They are nearly entirely Organically farmed with exception to wild harvested, seasonal products we may use. We aim to offer the highest standards also with leaf grades and quality that can be found in the retail tea market. We are admittedly a small company, but plan to carry our mission forward as we continue to add more and more conscientious supporters.
We spend a significant amount of time working to improve the culture of tea and offer you a truly ‘great’ tea experience as the best examples from our culture have given us.
We appreciate your support for our truly San Francisco-Persian, local and sustainable tea company.
